Informal BRICS Leaders’ Meeting

On 30 November 2018 before the start of the G20 Summit an informal meeting of the heads of State and Government of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The meeting reiterated the firm commitment of the five countries to the development of multifaceted strategic partnership, their focus on the establishment of a polycentric and democratic world order, based on the central role of the UN and strict observance of the principles of multilateralism. BRICS leaders stressed their unity on the key issues of the G20 agenda, including the strengthening of the global financial security system, the reform of WTO and the implementation of the Paris Agreement.

Following the meeting, the BRICS leaders issued a joint communique.
